Tomorrow I get my new puppy! We have had snow the past two days and I am looking forward to a stop in the snow for housetraining. My new puppy is older, so that should help in that department. "R" boy, or Roomba as I have taken to calling him, will actually turn 11 weeks on Friday. He will be the second oldest puppy I have gotten, with Millie being the oldest since she was 6 months when she was transfered to me. But he will be the oldest puppy I have gotten off the puppy truck. Sterling was 9 1/2 weeks, and Paris was just barley 8 weeks when I got her. Hopefully my arms will hold out for pictures tomorrow!
"Roomba" is a Samuel/Sarita puppy, and since Sarita was a litter mate to Sterling, that makes him Sterling's nephew! I can't wait for this special little (or big!) boy to make his way into my life tomorrow.
Also, I am trying to make my blog more friendly to those with screen readers. Does anyone have any suggestions? Like how do you add descriptions to your pictures? Thanks for any advice!

How exciting! Can't wait to see your new pup tomorrow.
As for adding descriptions for screen readers, I have also wanted to look into that--so thank you for spurring me into action.
I found this simple explanation for adding alt tags. They don't show up on your post, but your description will be included by a screen reader.
I added alt tags to my recent post for Cabana in her wild thing costume. If you right click on any of the photos, you'll be able to see the description I added (some of the descriptions are long so you might need to scroll to see them in entirety).
Sorry this comment is so long!!
Awww, I can't wait to meet him! =D
I ca't help you in the screen-readers department, but I hope you find an answer soon!
Oops, I forgot to leave the link last time. This seemed to have the easiest explanation, in my opinion:

My boyfriend uses his screen reading program on my blog page and whenever it goes over the picture it just says whatever the title of the pic is. So, if its just a general picture you could just re-title it before you upload it. Also, I just add a lengthy description underneath each picture I post and when he reads it, it all just kind of goes in order. If you have any more questions about it feel free to email me or something and I'll ask him for you.

Roomba is going to be soo cute!!! Did you see the picture on GDB's facebook today? Maybe that big guy on the right is Roomba!
Thanks to Cabana's raiser for mentioning the alt tags... I will have to try that. I have just been trying to include a caption within the text for each picture. I've had several screen reader users thank me for having captions, so although crude, at least it works!
P.S. Angel (aka Gelly) was also 11 weeks when I got her, and it was definitely a bit of a help with the housebreaking and sleeping through the night! But she was big... I missed a little bit of the tiny baby puppy with her, but she was still adorable!
Mimi- Thank you for the link! I will check that out. I really want to make my blog more accessible: hopefully that will help! I love your descriptions on your alt-tags.
Emily- I know I will miss having a baby baby, but I fostered a baby lab last night from my work, so I at least got a little of it out of my system. Not going to turn down easier time housetraining and sleeping through the night in this weather!!!
Hmmm... anyone know how to make alt-tags work on a Mac? It works just fine on my work comp which is a pc, but I can't seem to right-click on any pics with my mac.
I believe you hold down the control key and click at the same time.
