Less than a year?

We got the last date for the puppy truck here in Utah. It is Oct 31, and if Sterling is on it....we will not have even been together for a whole year. (He came Nov 17th.) The raisers of Melrose, Motown, and Shaw all got their pups on the same truck. He will only be 13 months old, but if he waits until the April truck he will be 19 months.

These fall puppies are hard! I would hate to have such a short time with Sterling, but I also do not want to deny him opportunity to be a guide.

Wow! That is an early recall. I am sure he will do great though! Are you planning to get another puppy on the truck?

Hmmm, either an early recall or a LATE recall! I'm sure Sterling will be an excellent guide whenever the recall is. My second dog left at only 14 months, and she's a breeder now!

I'm sure either will work out great for Sterling! But to throw a third option out there that I have seen with lots of our late fall pups, they might fly him back sometime during the winter. GDB actually paid for one of my club mates to fly to OR with her puppy in the cabin and another checked as luggage (it was cheaper than sending them as cargo). GDB met her at the airport, took the dogs, and she then got back on a plane and flew home. A pretty nutty day, but heck, I'd probably have loved to do it myself!

Yikes! An early or a late recall. Not quite sure which is better ;) Either way, I'm sure he'll do great though!

Ahhh that's too bad you don't get that long with your boy! That's one very sad thing about the puppy truck, and why I'm glad we can take our puppies down ourselves. :( I'm sure Sterling will do awesome though!
